On Monday, January 19, twelve Chicago middle schools competed in Sullivan High School’s 7th Annual MLK Day Middle School Basketball Tournament.

On June 11th, Friends of Sullivan held the 4th. annual College and Career Startup Fund Awards Banquet at South of the Border Restaurant in Rogers Park.

Watch hard working middle school youth display their basketball skills at this hard fought, competitive double elimination tournament.

With the assistance of a generous grant from the Rogers Park Builders Group, the organizers are offering a free tournament to all twelve teams competing.

The athletes will enjoy snacks, lunch, and an educational program honoring the legacy of Dr. King. Winning teams will receive prized trophies.

The temperature outside was frigid and the winds blustery, but yet, inside Roger C. Sullivan High School, the warmth of friendship and caring blanketed its rooms and hallways.

A special event took place at Roger C. Sullivan High School on Martin Luther King holiday this year, as Friends of Sullivan sponsored Sullivan High School’s 3rd MLK Day Middle School Hoops Tournament.

This year’s Refugee Thanksgiving celebration - our 7th Annual - had all of the features from previous year’s celebration, and MORE.
